Glen’s Week 4 Day 7

Food Diary:

Meal 1 — green smoothie (strawberries, banana, peaches, spinach, almond milk, and flax seed), 3 turkey sausage links

Meal 2 — cheese stick

Meal 3 — 2 small bowls of vegetable beef soup, salad with avocado, tomato, and cheese, 1 homemade chocolate chip cookie

Meal 4 — 3 inch tuna sandwich on white bread with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cheddar cheese, 1 hard boiled pickled egg with sweet peppers and 4 pretzels, 1 bowl of Greek lemon chicken rice (half white, half brown) soup, 1 kid size frozen yogurt with fresh strawberries from Red Mango

Exercise: 10 minutes on elliptical cross trainer, 7 minutes of abs, 10 minutes on bike

Thoughts: I am sure that Meal 4 looks like a lot of food, but it really was not.  Everything was in small portion.  I find myself hungry right now and will probably eat a tbs of peanut butter before bed.

It’s very interesting how my attitude towards food is changing as well.  Normally I would have gone hog wild at the luncheon that we attended as there was unhealthy food options.  However, I am glad that I chose wisely and I don’t feel guilty for having one cookie.

We are on day 27 of our lifestyle change and I have lost over 10 pounds, so 1 cookie is definitely not going to hurt.  Another interesting thing is that 1 was enough for me, where normally I would eat at least 6 (my favorite number).

I wish that I could have worked out more at the gym.  It is now 11:17 p.m. and I really wanted to get home and spend a little alone time with my wife.  I am glad that I did go for the time that I did tonight.  It is so much better to do something than nothing at all, right?
