How to Make a Green Smoothie

Since I eat a green smoothie pretty much every day I wanted to post a video showing you how I make one:

It usually consists of frozen bananas, some frozen fruit such as strawberries or pineapple (sometimes both), my greens (organic spinach, kale, etc…) and an orange or two. You have to have a really powerful blender to be able to turn the spinach leaves into liquid. We use a Blendtec blender and I LOVE it! There are literally no traces left of the greens.

It is not cheap, but we have had it for almost 2 years and it was one of the best investments we could ever make for our health.

What Makes a Green Smoothie So Healthy?

Well think about it… You know that greens are really good for you and the more you eat the better. The problem is that the only other way I like my greens are drenched in dressings and oils. Green smoothies allow me to consume a large number of greens mixed with fruit which makes it taste sweet and spares me of all the extra fat and calories.

I notice that the more greens I consume the less cravings I have for unhealthy foods. The reason why I used to overeat so much is because my body wasn’t getting the nutrients and minerals it desperately needed and since it was not being met by the poor food choices I was making I kept wanting to eat more and more in a desperate attempt to get what my body needed.
